A friend of mine who was considered an acharya after completing the traditional Buddhist three-year retreat created this healing therapy. This mindful disengagement from the body often allows the breath to flow naturally and freely.
This would explain why many Hindus wear a mark, such as a bindi, on their foreheads. It serves as a symbolic reminder to focus on this center of awareness, encouraging a state of witnessing that can liberate the breath from strain. Without this focus, the breath can remain tense, even after consciously stopping breathwork. By anchoring the mind at the third eye, practitioners can find a natural rhythm, transforming their breathing experience into one of ease and calm.
Remember the mind rides the wind like a rider and horse. Sometimes you have to "get off" the breath by focusing on the third-eye point in order to experience that effortless freedom.
